About

The Roadhouse Mexican Bar & Grill have been a year-round mainstay in Benzie County since 2000.  Chef Miguel Roman drew on his childhood in northern Mexico and love for its food to develop exclusive recipes that draw visitors and locals back.

Located on US-31 at the top of the hill in Benzonia, the Roadhouse is steps away from beautiful Crystal Lake and easy to access from Crystal Mountain Resort, Frankfort on Lake Michigan, and Traverse City.  Free parking is available on the street and in back of the restaurant.

The cozy restaurant and bar with its festive décor is staffed by a friendly and proficient staff. When diners return, they are greeted by familiar faces ready to make their visit a great experience.  The outdoor cantina offers its own bar and expanded dining under the umbrellas, with acoustic music four nights a week.

The Roadhouse prides itself on fresh, not fast, food that is hand-prepared.  Using the freshest ingredients available, Chef Miguel and his crew go the extra mile in preparing traditional favorites as well as Roadhouse specialties.   Not certain what suits your taste?  The Roadhouse menu provides the definitions, and the wait staff can recommend the best selections.

The Roadhouse’s salsa and chips are made daily in the kitchen, along with the peach salsa and guacamole. Margaritas and other specialty cocktails are prepared with the Roadhouse’s own margarita mix.  Exceptional salads are served with the Roadhouse’s own creamy cilantro and mango curry dressings.  And wait until you try Miguel’s Award-Winning Wings served with the Roadhouse mango barbeque sauce!

Now some Roadhouse favorites are available to take home for your next happy hour or dinner.  The Roadhouse Market features the restaurant’s salsas and salad dressings, the Roadhouse’s exclusive cherry habanera hot sauce (by the bottle or the case!), and fresh margarita mix.  Like the Roadhouse glassware and t-shirts, hats, and sweatshirts worn by the staff?  They’re also available through the Roadhouse Market.

And don’t forget—your first basket of chips and salsa are on the house…along with dinner on your birthday (photo ID, please!)
